In an earlier post titled “Which Meditation Shall I Practice” brain waves were discussed. The slowest waves christened ‘Delta’ (0 to 4 hz), in meditation show that the super-consciousness is awakening inside.
The first state being waking, second is sleep with dreams and the third being sleep without dreams. The fourth state is the waking state of superconscious awakening. This is the goal of true and profound meditation.
Original from Kirpal Gill
As a thumb rule, the greater I exert in meditation, the farther away I am from this awakening. The greater I let go, the closer to this awakening.
The Yoga of surrender or the Sunn Samadhi is metaphorically written in the scriptures as ‘Death’ or ‘Dying while alive and being reborn’. It definitely is not physical death. The reference here is to a state of complete letting go, ‘surrender’.
Why surrender?
One of the reasons is that true meditation or oneness happens when the omnipotence inside awakens. That happens through the inspiration of the soul. The conscious mind cannot do that. Scriptures refer to it as the ‘fourth state of consciousness’.
The first state being waking, second is sleep with dreams and the third being sleep without dreams. The fourth state is the waking state of superconscious awakening. This is the goal of true and profound meditation.
Is it a state or trance?
No. Far from it. You are fully aware and can stop the meditation at any time. Trance state is not meditation.
Is it Hypnosis?
Not at all. It is not even self hypnosis.
Remember, the most profound meditation system must be
Simple, Loving and be accompanied by an Awakening.
Sunn Samadhi is all of that.
THE METHOD
Sit in a quiet place. As comfortably as you wish.
Gently close your eyes and take a couple of deep breaths.
Now gently and slowly hum the words
“Praise Divine”
“Grace Sublime”
(This is only the praise of the omnipotence inside each one)
As we sing these words, we will begin to relax deeply.
After around six times, we relax deeply and stop singing.
Now let go, as if falling asleep.
Thoughts will come, do not follow them. Let them come and go.
Remember, true surrender will not happen at the conscious level, but far deeply.
Keep on relaxing without judging yourself. Just relax as if you’re going to sleep. Some people may sleep initially. That is OK for a beginner, but sleep is not really meditation.
Relax for around 10-15 min. You can put an alarm if you like, initially.
After these 10-15 minutes, again sing very gently
“Praise Divine”
“Grace Sublime”
Slowly sing for around 5 times and then open your eyes.
Remember, whatever happens during meditation or the relaxation phase, let it happen. Do not judge or think about it.
If people wish, they can write a comment and I’ll upload a video of an actual session on Friday. Then you can meditate with that.
If you’d like to discuss any aspect of your experience, send a comment to me and ask me not to publish, but to answer. I shall be happy to do that.
If you receive any dreams, seemingly unconnected, please note them down in a diary and ask me. They may be important. I can help to interpret. Specially the scary ones. These are very important messages.
May the Divine bless you abundantly.
These mantras can be replaced by “OM”? It is more musical than grace sublime and praise the divine. Will try this and let u know. Thank you

I agree with Maylynno. No Sadhana or Meditation can bring out fruitful results without uttering ॐ.
