HEART, MIND OR SOUL

Our heart, which is our emotional bundle, feels a lot. It loves and it carries pain. When it comes to choosing, it seeks to discover ways that will, somehow, attract to us, pleasant emotions. We, as humans, run after happiness, by searching for pleasurable feelings. Choices made only to obtain such emotional experiences may not always be right.

In line with the focus on pleasure, our heart develops cravings for materialistic things like cars, wealth etc. This is where the question “do we need this?” arises.

Our mind, which is tasked with the job of discovering ways to fulfil the cravings of the heart, works to find such material objects. As this quest grows, poison of “greed” enters our mind.

This is where our soul comes to our rescue. Our soul is something divine, one with the universe. It can discern greed.

This brings us to the all important questions.

Is desire really poisonous?

Is the killing of all desire the key to salvation?

If yearning of every kind were so poisonous, we would still be in stone age. It is desire which propels human advancement. It is an inherent power inside every human. The wish to create, the aspiration for excellence.

What then is the poison which leads us astray?

It is the darkness.

The inability of our conscious mind to connect with what is the subconscious mind. Inside each one of us lies the infinite power, within the subconscious, referred also to as the “Naam Kalaah”, “Aad Paraa Shakti”, “Chi”, “Ki”, “Zat Allah”,”The Holy Spirit” and by many other names.

The food of our soul is the awakening of this omnipotence. Our heart and mind, though they yearn for eternal joy; they try to find it outside, in the material.

Whereas, the treasure lies inside.

The journey to peace and happiness is not in the muddle of the material, but it is a voyage to the resplendence of the inside world.

So, is there a solution to greed? How to end hatred?

When I connect, in profound surrender to the omniscience inside me, I understand the true nature of things. This is meditation. In its depth. This is the meditation taught by the prophets. The Yoga of surrender.

Once I fathom that I am the creator and I can have all I want, then greed, hatred, jealousy cease to exist. I realise the oneness, the unity of the creation.

Then, the heart, the mind and the soul beat as one.

Infinite, abundant, timeless.

(I must thank the brilliant Rishika for her ideas and her contribution. She is a young person with amazing maturity; complemented equally by her outstanding expression. I look forward to working with her in future as well)

  1. Beautiful post. I ❤️. Mind, body and soul, I think, become One when we have reached the state of equanimity; when we see god in all beings and beauty in all things.
Thank you for sharing and also for liking my post.

    • Thank you for your kind comment.
I would have really like to collab and write with you. But what to do, my greatest achievement in sketching is a matchstick man😂
In school, they asked us to draw a portrait of Mahatma Gandhi. I didn’t know how to. I saw a drawing of a beggar and I copied it. My teacher, a Bengali was so mad at me.
Father of nation ko tum beggar jaisa dikhaya😊
My poetry is as bad as my cooking😊
I guess I will have to just appreciate your blog😊 and be content.
please do keep writing and painting

  2. This is a beautiful collab and I’m so happy you lead me here! I love the notion that the “treasure lies inside.” Sometimes it’s hard not to get caught up in the “I’ll be happy when I achieve this or that then this and that.” Even after achievement, we long for more. Thank you for this perspective on the heart, mind, souls connectedness. I look forward to reading more!

      • Dear Parneet, actually this topic is truly the basics of life,if people can understand this then there’s nothing to worry…And if people understand how the life goes on mingling with these basics then that’s the clear track they are on…Mostly people use just one at a time but if they do use these basics together then can hear that exact human living inside…And that’s simply the innerself of everyone as I see according to my opinion…And definitely I see a deep meaning and great discussion on these basics in your article today…So highly appreciate what has been already done is truly a justice to the baiscs which are Heart,Mind And Soul…So what I can suggest for all is to keep these waken up all the time so can see the world around you in that beautiful different view rather a typical manner…😊😊

    • Dear friend, we do have an email follow link. For a subscription link, there seems to be an issue with the code with the developer. Hopefully they’ll sort it out soon. We’ll let you know. Thank you so much

  4. Anything that comes out of thoughts including all feelings etc. will not lead to peace, it will push one back to the grinding cycle. Basics are lost unfortunately…🙂🙏🏻
